Description
This is the first draft of my color wheels tutorial. I would love to get feedback on it so that I can improve it.
Came about mostly because in a conversation with outsidelogic [link] I realized that not everybody knew this stuff. And then I googled around a bit and discovered that I didn't know this stuff either.
enjoy,
-Alex

Nicely done, Alex. Glad I played a small part in it . I like how you used the illustrations...it really helps because this stuff is more complicated than most people realize. One thing: what you're calling the modern color wheel is really a color wheel for additive color...like when light is transmitted (as in a computer monitor), and all the colors mixed together at full intensity make white. Then what you're calling the traditional color wheel is a a color wheel for subtractive color, or what you see when light is reflected (as when you put paint on a canvas). You mix these colors together and they get darker. The primary colors for each type are different.
I actually did a bunch of reading on this, and learned more than I'll ever need to know (see my journal here: [link]). I think your approach is more practical.
